C. BIBLE LESSONS

A. LESSON–INTRODUCTION

1. STUDY GOD’S WORD

     First and foremost, we encourage you to hear, read, and study the Bible. We would hope that you would crave God’s Word; for it is written: 1 Pe 2:2–…NEWBORN BABES, DESIRE THE SINCERE MILK OF THE WORD, THAT YE MAY GROW THEREBY.
     Our personal recommendation is that people would read at least 5 chapters a day faithfully. Even more than this would be better.
     Begin with the Gospel of John. Read it 3 times.
     Then read all the New Testament through 3 times.
     Then go to Genesis and read the entire Bible.
     As God opens His Word to you, OBEY IT, FOR IT IS NOT THE HEARERS OF THE WORD that shall be justified, but those that DO the Word–ref Ro 2:13; Ja 1:22.
     Jesus Christ is the Word–ref Rev 19:13. To reject God’s Word is to reject Jesus Christ.
     Expect, as you begin to study your Bible or do these Bible lessons, distractions will happen. You may begin to read, and your phone rings or someone knocks on your door. You may begin to study, but then some loud noise outside distracts you. You begin to study, and then you get a strong thought that you have to clean the carpet, or mirror, or stove. You may begin to study, but then a mosquito bites you. You may begin to study, but your children, or wife, or husband, or neighbors won’t leave you alone.

2. GO TO CHURCH

     We encourage people to: Heb 10:25–NOT FORSAKING THE ASSEMBLING OF OURSELVES TOGETHER, AS THE MANNER OF SOME IS; BUT EXHORTING ONE ANOTHER: AND SO MUCH THE MORE, AS YE SEE THE DAY APPROACHING. In other words, if possible, find a good, local, Bible–teaching church. Attend often and learn of Jesus.

3. WHAT CHURCH SHOULD I ATTEND?

     God´s people need to be in a good, Bible–teaching church that teaches sound doctrine,
that includes all doctrines from heaven to hell,
from loving God to fearing God,
from obeying God’s Word to denying oneself,
from repenting to—THE LORD THY GOD…HIM ONLY SHALT THOU SERVE–ref Mt 4:10. It should be a church that teaches about not fellowshipping WITH THE UNFRUITFUL WORKS OF DARKNESS, for WHAT FELLOWSHIP HATH RIGHTEOUSNESS WITH UNRIGHTEOUSNESS?–ref Eph 5:11; 2 Cor 6:14.
It should be a church that teaches about judgment, sin, holiness.
It should be a church that can teach perfection for those that have grown and need the strong meat of God’s Word–ref Heb 5:14.

     It should be a church that warns people that follow Jesus—they can expect persecutions, sufferings, and all sorts of unexpected trials–ref 2 Tim 3:12.
     It should be a church that teaches the strait gate and narrow way and that few people will inherit eternal life–ref Mt 7:13,14.
     It should be a church that teaches spiritual warfare and how Satan works in our thoughts and emotions to try and cause us to disobey God, to sin, and to fall, and go astray.
     It should be a church that teaches good, sound Bible prophecy, the Rapture before the Tribulation, the books of Daniel and the Revelation–ref Rev 22:16.

     It should be a church that does water baptism by full immersion–Mt 28:19–BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY GHOST. Water baptism is not for those that have not repented or do not believe in the Jesus Christ of the Bible.

     It should be a church where the preacher is not afraid to correct members of his congregation WITH GOD´S WORD, when they are going astray.

     It should not be a church that teaches what people´s itching ears want to hear–ref 2 Tim 4:3.
     It should not be a church that baptizes babies.
     It should not be a church that preaches lots of worldly stories, uses lots of foolishness, but very little of God´s Word–ref Pv 24:9; 2 Tim 2:15,16.

4. MANY HAVE WRITTEN US. THEY NEED ADVICE AND HELP

     Many have written us from all over the world, telling us that they are unable to find a local church that preaches sound doctrine. They can´t find a church that teaches much of the Bible. Many churchgoers know far more about their preacher and his family than they do about Jesus, repentance, and sin. Many hear far more preaching about giving their money, than about holiness.

     No Internet, TV or radio church or written Bible lesson is a substitute for a good, local, Bible–believing and teaching church: a church where your pastor will WATCH FOR YOUR (soul) AS THEY THAT MUST GIVE ACCOUNT–Heb 13:17.

5. TODAY’S CHURCH ACCORDING TO GOD’S WORD, IS THIS:

     When Jesus was asked about the sign of His coming, which is close at hand right now, the very first sign He gave in Mt 24, Mk 13, and Lk 21 was a warning about being deceived. Mt 24:4–TAKE HEED THAT NO MAN DECEIVE YOU. In other words, religious deception would abound. He clearly reveals that the churches of this age would be teaching much that was incorrect. He also indicated that many would be deceived–Mt 24:5, 11; Lk 21:8; Mk 13:5,6,22.

     Jesus also indicated that the religious deception would be so great during the Tribulation, which is soon to come, that if it were possible, even the very elect could be deceived-Mt 24:23,24.

     God´s Word tells us: As the days of Noah, Lot, and Sodom and Gomorrah were, so shall it be–ref Lk 17:26-30. It is written: GOD LOOKED UPON THE EARTH, AND, BEHOLD,…ALL FLESH HAD CORRUPTED HIS WAY–Gen 6:12,13. Ask yourself, is it true that the earth is becoming as Sodom and Gomorrah was? As it was then, so it is becoming now. As birth pangs of a woman, this verse is being fulfilled.

     Today´s church is a church that preaches what people´s itching ears want to hear, not what God wants them to hear–ref 2 Tim 4:3.

     This is a church age of being asleep to the truth and reality of God´s Word; for it is written: Mt 25:5,6,8–WHILE THE BRIDEGROOM TARRIED, THEY ALL SLUMBERED AND SLEPT.

     This is a church age of falling away from God, from His Word, from truth; for it is written: 2 Thes 2:3–LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU BY ANY MEANS: FOR THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, AND THAT MAN OF SIN BE REVEALED, THE SON OF PERDITION.

     This is a church age of people letting their lamps go out—in other words, falling away; for it is written: Mt 25:8–AND THE FOOLISH SAID UNTO THE WISE, GIVE US OF YOUR OIL; FOR OUR LAMPS ARE GONE OUT. Has your lamp for Jesus gone out?

     This is a church age that does not believe that Jesus (the Amen) is THE BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD. Rather many believe in the lie of evolution–ref Rev 3:14.

     It is a church age that is not cold or hot, but is LUKEWARM. The lukewarm Christians will be spit out and perish–Rev 3:14–17. It is a church age that is INCREASED WITH GOODS.
     However, it is a church age that is blind and deceived. It is a church age that has no understanding, or does not know that it is:
WRETCHED,
AND MISERABLE,
AND POOR,
AND BLIND,
AND NAKED. This church age can´t see what is right and what is wrong. They cannot understand what their true condition is.
     Take heed to what God is saying, perhaps to you.

Today´s church is wretched. Regarding God´s Word, it is blind. It´s people are shamefully naked—which means they are unsaved, as they have no white garments of righteousness on. They are, at best, lukewarm, which is not good enough. Their trust in Jesus is, at best, lukewarm.

6. SUMMARY OF TODAY´S CHURCH

     To summarize what has just been said:
     This is a church age of great religious deception.
     This is a church age in which all flesh has corrupted His way.
     This is a church age of preaching to please the people, but it is not pleasing to God.
     It is a church age of being asleep to God´s Word, to God´s truth.
     It is a church age of falling away from God and from His Word.
     It is a church age of people´s lamps going out, and
     it is a church age of lukewarmness that will be spit out . The lukewarm shall perish.
     It is the time that most churches and people do not know that they are WRETCHED, AND MISERABLE, AND POOR, AND BLIND, AND NAKED–ref Rev 3:14–20. Many deceived preachers, television, and radio evangelists, and even missionaries blindly and incorrectly believe this is a great church age. Their understanding of today´s church and themselves, in this respect, is far removed from what God teaches. They cannot be corrected; no, not even by God directly speaking to them through His Word.

     In most cases, this lukewarm generation teaches a “feel good” Gospel of deception, and the people love to have it so–ref Jere 5:31. It is a Gospel that is silent, regarding teaching people about sin. It is a Gospel void of telling people to repent, to deny themselves, pick up their cross daily, and follow Jesus. It is a Gospel that is lacking in the fear of God and the teaching of the judgments, hell, and the lake of fire, which is where most people will go. It is, what some may say, a politically correct Gospel; yet, it is an abomination in the sight of God.

7. GOD’S MESSAGE OF CORRECTION TO TODAY’S CHURCH IS THIS:

     Ro 13:11–AND THAT, KNOWING THE TIME, THAT NOW IT IS HIGH TIME TO AWAKE OUT OF SLEEP.      1 Thes 5:6,8–THEREFORE LET US NOT SLEEP, AS DO OTHERS; BUT LET US WATCH AND BE SOBER.      …BUT LET US, WHO ARE OF THE DAY, BE SOBER, PUTTING ON THE BREASTPLATE OF FAITH AND LOVE;
     AND FOR AN HELMET,THE HOPE OF SALVATION .
     Mk 13:35–37–WATCH YE THEREFORE: FOR YE KNOW NOT WHEN THE MASTER OF THE HOUSE COMETH, AT EVEN, OR AT MIDNIGHT, OR AT THE COCKCROWING, OR IN THE MORNING: LEST COMING SUDDENLY HE FIND YOU SLEEPING. AND WHAT I SAY UNTO YOU I SAY UNTO ALL, WATCH.      I COUNSEL THEE TO BUY OF ME GOLD TRIED IN THE FIRE,
     THAT THOU MAYEST BE RICH;
     AND WHITE RAIMENT,
     THAT THOU MAYEST BE CLOTHED,
     AND THAT THE SHAME OF THY NAKEDNESS DO NOT APPEAR;
     AND ANOINT THINE EYES WITH EYESALVE, THAT THOU MAYEST SEE.
     AS MANY AS I LOVE, I REBUKE AND CHASTEN: BE ZEALOUS THEREFORE, AND

     BEHOLD, I STAND AT THE DOOR, AND KNOCK:
     IF ANY MAN HEAR MY VOICE, AND OPEN THE DOOR,
     I WILL COME IN TO HIM, AND WILL SUP WITH HIM, AND HE WITH ME.
     HE THAT HATH AN EAR, LET HIM HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAITH UNTO THE CHURCHES–Rev 3:18–22.

8. GOD’S MESSAGE OF CORRECTION TO TODAY’S CHURCH—SUMMARIZED

     NOW IT IS HIGH TIME TOAWAKE OUT OF SLEEP.
     LET US NOT SLEEP.
     LET US WATCH AND BE SOBER.
     PUT…ON THE BREASTPLATE OF FAITH AND LOVE;
     PUT…ON…THE HOPE OF SALVATION.
     WATCH…I SAY UNTO YOU, I SAY UNTO ALL, WATCH.
     BUY OF ME GOLD TRIED IN THE FIRE,
     ANOINT THINE EYES WITH EYESALVE, THAT THOU MAYEST SEE.
     BE ZEALOUS.

     REPENT, REPENT, REPENT.

     Warning. Of the entire lukewarm church that engulfs many people in this present world none, no, not one person that is lukewarm shall inherit eternal life, unless they heed God´s warning and repent.

10. WHAT IS LACKING?

A minister in a local church or a college professor over you, watching for your soul—who is able to correct you when needed–ref Heb 13:17.

11. THREE SPEEDS A STUDENT CAN STUDY

     The Bible lessons are listed in the order they should be studied.
     There are three ways to study:
     For the serious full–time student of God’s Word—we suggest studying 3 lessons a day, 5 days a week. This the college course.
     For the serious part–time student of God’s Word—we suggest studying 1 lesson a day, 5 days a week. This is the advanced church course.
     For the student of God’s Word that may have only a limited amount time—we suggest they study at least 2 lessons a week.

     In all three cases, a person should read a minimum of 5 chapters every day in their Bible as outlined above.
     This is no time to play games with God.

12. TIME IS SHORT. THE RAPTURE AND TRIBULATION

     Know this, the time is short. The Rapture of God’s children is drawing near. Beware of those that teach there is no Rapture or that the Rapture will be during or after the Tribulation.
     Following the Rapture, the Antichrist will come forth, confirm a covenant with Israel and others–ref Dan 9:27; and the most terrifying time on this earth (called the Tribulation) will follow. It is a 7 year period, but the Lord has, in some way, shortened those days–ref Mt 24:22; Mk 13:20; Ro 9:28. (Note—there are some that believe the first 1260 days of the Tribulation have been shortened and that the Abomination of Desolation will actually come sooner than 1260 days after the confirmation of the covenant–ref Dan 9:27. Some believe this is why one must look for the Abomination to occur, rather than counting 1260 days, plus other reasons, also.)

     During the first part of the Tribulation, one out of every 4 people on earth will die.
     During the second part, one out of every 3 people will die.
     Then, immediately after the Tribulation of those days, the 24 hour Battle of Armageddon will explode, and Jesus Christ will return in power and great glory. The number of people left alive following Armageddon will be so few that a child may write them.
     To illustrate how horrible it will be during those days, the Bible tells us that if Jesus had not returned when He does, there should be no one left alive on this earth–ref Mk 13:20.

     Read the Bible. Look at the world situation today. The Bible reads like today’s newspaper. Things are exactly as God’s Word said they would be. Don´t be foolish, as the people in the days of Noah were. Don’t be stupid, as those that were warned in the days of Lot. They did not believe what was about to happen. As a result, they perished.

     By God´s mercy, we believe the Bible knowledge contained in these studies will equal or exceed what you would learn in most churches or Bible universities. Approximately 14,000 main and sub title subjects should be covered.

13. READ LESSONS IN THE ORDER GIVEN

     Some people read their Bible a bit here and a bit there. Their walk with Jesus often reflects this.
     Regarding these Bible lessons, do not do a bit here and a bit there. Do them in the order that they appear.
     They appear in a certain order. That order when combined with reading 5+ chapters a day as prescribed, should enable you to grow in faith, in the fear of the Lord, in His wisdom, and in the knowledge of Him. It should help you to conform to the image of Christ.

Heb 13:16–17–BUT TO DO GOOD AND TO COMMUNICATE FORGET NOT: FOR WITH SUCH SACRIFICES GOD IS WELL PLEASED.
